The American Bankers Association today released six new TV spots asking Americans to contact members of Congress and urge them to continue supporting legislation that promotes economic growth. Produced in partnership with state bankers associations in Florida, Kentucky, Nevada and Texas, the ads urge constituents to contact the following lawmakers: Sen. Dean Heller (R-Nev.) and Reps. Andy Barr (R-Ky.), Carlos Curbelo (R-Fla.), Vicente Gonzàlez (D-Texas), Will Hurd (R-Texas) and Stephanie Murphy (D-Fla.).
The new ads — which will begin airing as soon as today – highlight specific legislative issues important to banks and their ability to serve communities and support the broader U.S. economy. Thus far in 2018, ABA has produced a total of 12 ads together with its state bankers association partners.
“Our new advertising initiative marks the next major step forward for ABA’s political engagement,” said ABA President and CEO Rob Nichols. “These ads draw attention to legislative issues that are critical to banks and the customers they serve across the country. They will help ensure that key lawmakers hear their voice.”
