FDIC Chair Jelena McWilliams will deliver a keynote address at this year’s ABA Annual Convention, to be held Oct. 21-23 in New York, the association announced today. In a discussion with ABA President and CEO Rob Nichols, McWilliams will discuss her regulatory priorities as chair, the current health of the nation’s banks and the challenges facing de novo institutions.
Also speaking at the convention will be Cathy Bessant, chief operations and technology officer at Bank of America; Robin Chase, founder and former CEO of Zipcar; Carla Harris, vice chairman, managing director and senior client advisor at Morgan Stanley; Mike Allen, co-founder and executive director of Axios; Seth Meyers, host of NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers”; Grammy, Emmy and Tony Award-winning artist Cyndi Lauper, founder of the True Colors Fund; and internationally celebrated photographer Platon.
Sessions at this year’s convention will cover a wide range of topics, including collaboration with fintech firms, the implementation of S. 2155, the new regulatory reform law, the recently enacted tax reform law, attracting mobile-first customers, changing views on board of directors and governance and managing in a rising rate environment.
