ABA will partner with the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business to present a new advanced enterprise risk management professional development program designed for senior risk management professionals across the banking industry. The five-day program will be held Oct. 31-Nov. 4 in Washington, D.C.
The program’s curriculum explores each of the industry’s primary risk categories, including credit risk management, asset-liability management and business risk. Led by a faculty of experts from government agencies and the private sector, senior risk compliance professionals will be placed in small cohort teams to facilitate learning and maximize interaction as they further build the critical knowledge and management skills necessary to develop, implement and monitor effective risk programs.
“The challenge of maintaining a strong risk management program and culture can be daunting. More is expected of risk managers today,” said ABA EVP Jim Edrington. “This program will help them develop and sustain an effective risk governance framework that enables their institution to quickly and easily make sound risk-taking decisions.”
