Despite challenges in the oil patch and volatility in the market, banks are well positioned to weather the storm, ABA President and CEO Frank Keating said today in an interview with Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo.
“I think the banks have done well. They are highly capitalized and very healthy — even community banks, with all their suffering as a result of 14,000 pages of proposed and final Dodd-Frank rules,” Keating said. “But eventually if Main Street starts to slowly strangle, the banks will as well. Right now, I’m just hoping a lot of this volatility is just that.”
