In a CEO Update to all bank CEOs today, ABA President and CEO Frank Keating shared his reflections on the progress thus far in achieving the goals of ABA’s Agenda for America’s Hometown Banks. He cited regulatory relief bills moving in both houses of Congress, with emerging agreement between Republicans and Democrats; progress on the Hill and with regulators in achieving tailored regulation; and the growing numbers of bankers signed up for Take Your Lawmaker to Work Week.
“In each of these efforts, the most important thing bankers are doing and must continue to do is tell their story,” Keating said. “Please continue to tell the impressive story of how your bank promotes the prosperity of your customers and communities. Such stories persuade and can help create a better policy environment for banks and, more importantly, for our customers. Our industry’s future depends on that — and you.”
