President Trump yesterday named several individuals to senior posts at the Treasury Department. According to numerous news reports, Trump nominated Jim Donovan — a Goldman Sachs partner and adjunct law professor at the University of Virginia — as deputy treasury secretary.
Trump also named former Bear Stearns chief economist David Malpass as under secretary for international affairs, American Enterprise Institute economist Adam Lerrick as deputy under secretary for international finance, Hess Corporation lobbyist Drew Maloney as deputy under secretary for legislative affairs, Proskauer law partner Sigal Mandelker as under secretary for terrorism and financial intelligence and Sullivan and Cromwell partner Brent McIntosh as general counsel at Treasury.
Trump nominated Commodity Futures Trading Commission Acting Chairman Chris Giancarlo to serve as chairman, according to news reports. Giancarlo has been acting chairman since January and a CFTC commissioner since 2014.
