Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker today announced that Stacey Facter — SVP for trade products at BAFT, ABA’s global transaction banking subsidiary — has been appointed to the department’s newly formed Trade Finance Advisory Council. The council is comprised of representatives from exporters, banks, trade finance organizations and research institutions, and will provide insights on how to provide expanded access to finance for U.S. exporters.
ABA, associations reiterate opposition to Credit Card Competition Act
ABA joined nine associations representing banks, credit unions and payment providers in restating their opposition to the Credit Card Competition Act, which would impose new network routing mandates on financial institutions that issue credit cards.
