ABA’s Health Savings Accounts Council today applauded the inclusion of an HSA-qualified plan in the bronze tier of proposed “simple choice plans” that will be available through state health insurance exchanges in 2018. In a letter to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the council recommended that HSA-qualified plans also be made available in the silver and gold tiers for 2018, and urged CMS to increase its efforts to help educate consumers on HSA-qualified plans, noting that these plans “are among the most affordable insurance plan choices for many Americans.” For more information, contact ABA’s Kevin McKechnie.
