The Department of Homeland Security today kicked off its biennial, congressionally-mandated “Cyber Storm” exercise. The purpose of the exercise is to examine organizations’ capability to prepare for, protect from and respond to the potential effects of cyberattacks in order to strengthen overall preparedness in the public and private sectors.
This year’s exercise will focus on the retail, health care, information technology and communications industries, and consists of 1,100 participants from eight states, five countries and at least eight federal agencies.
