The University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index preliminary October reading was 92.1, up from September’s final reading of 87.2 and surpassing analysts’ expectations. The first gain in four months, the figure was attributed in part to wage increases and declining energy prices.
FDIC, OCC repeal guidance on leveraged lending
The FDIC and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency rescinded guidance on leveraged lending issued more than a decade ago, saying it was too restrictive.
