With Congress back in session today, ABA, joined by ICBA and two credit union trade groups, wrote to the leaders of the Senate Banking Committee to keep up the pressure on enacting regulatory relief this fall. The groups emphasized the urgency of delivering relief for community institutions and asked the Senate “not to allow rhetoric to stand in the way of promptly passing needed reforms.”
“We have continually heard senators on both sides of the aisle express support for helping our nation’s community financial institutions,” the groups added. “While no single piece of legislation is perfect, measures such as S. 1484, the Financial Regulatory Improvement Act of 2015, are a step in the right direction.”
