The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission announced that the 2023 EEO-1 Component 1 data collection will open on April 30, with a filing deadline of June 4. The EEOC also announced that it is making available a “data dashboard” providing the agency’s analysis of the 2017 and 2018 EEO-1 Component 2 pay data that the agency collected.
Historically, the EEO-1 report asked private employers with 100 or more employees and federal contractors with 50 or more employees to submit data on employees’ gender, race, and ethnicity (“Component 1 data”) annually to the EEOC. Under the Obama administration, the EEOC expanded this data collection to add pay data (“Component 2 data”).
With ABA’s support, EEOC stopped collecting this Component 2 data during the Trump administration. EEOC is now making available a tool to analyze the Component 2 data that it collected.
