With Hurricane Florence expected to make landfall on the southeastern Atlantic coast later this week, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the North Carolina Commissioner of Banks today preemptively authorized banks affected by the severe weather to close. The OCC also reiterated guidance intended to help banks facilitate recovery in the wake of natural disasters.
