ABA recognized David Dickinson, president of Banker’s Compliance Consulting, with the 2016 ABA Distinguished Service Award during its annual Regulatory Compliance Conference in San Diego this week. The award, first presented in 1995, recognizes outstanding leadership, initiative and accomplishment in banking regulatory compliance management.
“David is recognized throughout the industry for his passion and commitment to the compliance community,” said John Topczewski, SVP and chief compliance officer for Johnson Bank in Racine, Wis., and chairman of ABA’s Compliance Administrative Committee, which selects the award’s recipient each year. “He goes above and beyond to educate his fellow compliance professionals on complex issues, and we are fortunate to have him as a friend, teacher and industry advocate.”
Dickinson established Banker’s Compliance Consulting in 1993, after serving as an examiner with the FDIC and a community bank loan officer. He has contributed numerous compliance articles to banking publications, including ABA Bank Compliance magazine, and maintains a blog where the compliance community can find information on current industry issues. Dickinson is on the faculty of the Center for Financial Training and ABA’s National Compliance Schools and is a regular speaker at RCC.
