Fifty bankers yesterday toured several community centers and supportive housing facilities whose development was led by banks of all sizes. Located in and around Los Angeles’ Skid Row neighborhood, the programs and sites spotlighted provide housing and supportive services for previously homeless individuals, including veterans.
The delegation, which included ABA’s Board of Directors and ABA Foundation board members, visited the New Carver, New Genesis, New Pershing, Star and SIX apartment complexes. Ranging from renovations of historically significant buildings to all-new avant-garde architecture, the facilities all showcase partnerships among banks, nonprofits and government agencies.
The event was the third annual community development tour hosted by the ABA Foundation in conjunction with ABA’s Annual Convention.
