ABA today congratulated the women named to American Banker Magazine’s “25 Most Powerful Women in Banking” and “25 Women to Watch in Banking” lists. All 50 women on the two lists are associated with ABA member banks.
Incoming ABA Chairman-Elect Dorothy Savarese (president and CEO of Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank, Orleans, Mass.) ranked number 13 on the “most powerful” list. ABA Government Relations Council Chairman Laurie Stewart (president and CEO of Sound Community Bank, Seattle) was included on the “women to watch” list, along with several members of ABA’s banker-led councils and committees.
The rankings, selected by the newspaper’s editors, highlight the professional achievements and business acumen of the industry’s leading women. They also spotlight institutions that successfully promote gender diversity in their leadership ranks.
