FinCEN announced that Jamal El-Hindi will be FinCEN’s new deputy director. El-Hindi joined FinCEN in 2006 where he was head of the former regulatory policy and programs division. He previously served as associate director for the policy division before becoming acting deputy director in January 2015. As deputy director, he will be working with law enforcement, intelligence, and the financial and regulatory communities to ensure the effective coordination of AML/CFT initiative.
Fed’s Waller seeking ‘middle lane’ on ‘skinny’ master accounts
Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller provided an update on the feedback the Fed received about a proposal to create “skinny” accounts for payment services, acknowledging that banks and financial technology firms want conflicting things from the proposed service.
