Real Estate Investing Q&A with David Sherman

February 17, 2020
Reading Time: 2 mins read

Sponsored Content provided by Columbia Business School Executive Education

We recently sat down with David Sherman, the co-director of the Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate at Columbia Business School, to discuss the challenges and opportunities in real estate investing, recent technological trends he’s seeing in the industry, and why there’s a need for better education in this complex asset class.

Sherman brings with him more than 30 years of real estate experience to the position as a former REIT analyst, investment banker, consultant, and – for the past 18 years – as co-founder, president, and co-chief investment officer of Metropolitan Real Estate. We invite you to take a look at the videos below to hear his insights.

Question: What advice would you give investors who are interested in branching into real estate investing?

Question: Recent technological advances are shaping the real estate sector faster than ever before. What does real estate technology, or “Proptech,” mean for the future of the industry?

Question: What are the most common risks of real estate investing?

Learn more from David Sherman in this Executive Education program at Columbia Business School:
