Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte has been named acting director of national intelligence, President Trump announced today. Pulte will continue to serve as FHFA director while also serving in his new role
As acting director of national intelligence, Pulte will succeed Tulsi Gabbard, who resigned last week. Pulte was CEO of the private equity firm Pulte Capital Partners and a philanthropist before joining FHFA.
“William has deep experience managing the most sensitive matters in America, the safety and soundness of the Markets, and over 10 Trillion Dollars at Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac, a substantial increase from where it was just 12 months ago,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
Trump has not announced who he will nominate to replace Gabbard on a long-term basis. The Senate must confirm the nomination.
