More than 1,800 bankers and compliance experts convened in New Orleans, La., yesterday for ABA’s annual Regulatory Compliance Conference. Richard Harvey, CRCM, president of RHarvey Associates, received the Distinguished Service Award during the conference’s opening session last night. The award, first presented in 1995, recognizes outstanding leadership, initiative and accomplishment in banking regulatory compliance management.
An active participant in ABA compliance activities for many years, Harvey has served on the board and as an instructor at the ABA Graduate School of Compliance Risk Management and the Stonier School of Banking. A frequent speaker at national and international conferences and seminars on bank compliance and BSA/AML issues, Harvey has more than 25 years of experience in developing and leading successful compliance, BSA/AML/OFAC and legal programs for mid-sized and large financial institutions.
The four-day Regulatory Compliance Conference, which is a compliance immersion experience for bank compliance officers, auditors, legal counsel and bank senior management, kicked off with a panel on building an innovative compliance function. Throughout the week, attendees will hear keynote presentations from director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Kathy Kraninger, nationally recognized leadership author, scholar and consultant Betsy Myers and Financial Solutions for Growing Companies founder and President Patti Blenden.
