As part of its commitment to expanding the banking industry’s political capability and growing a bipartisan, consensus-minded, pro-banking bench in Congress, the American Bankers Association today released two new TV spots in support of candidates running in the 2018 midterm elections.
In partnership with the Montana Bankers Association, ABA is running an ad in support of Democratic Sen. Jon Tester, a key supporter of bipartisan regulatory reform efforts in the Senate. The ad features three Montana community bankers talking about how Tester’s work on Capitol Hill has enhanced their ability to promote growth in their communities.
Meanwhile, ABA partnered with the North Carolina Bankers Association to run an ad supporting Republican Rep. Ted Budd, who as a member of the House Financial Services Committee has championed regulatory reform. The ad features Kelley Earnhardt Miller, daughter of Nascar legend Dale Earnhardt Sr., talking about how Budd’s policies help businesses in the district.
