The University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index decreased 2.7% in February compared to the month prior, landing at 76.9, according to final results for the month. The February figure was up 14.9% from a year ago. The current conditions component of the index fell 3.1% from the month prior, landing at 79.4, while the consumer expectations index decreased 2.5% to 75.2.
