The Producer Price Index for final demand increased 0.8% in November, seasonally adjusted, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. On an unadjusted basis, the final demand index moved up 9.6% for the 12 months ended in November.
Prices for final demand less foods, energy, and trade services rose 0.7% in November. For the 12 months ended in November, the index moved up 6.9%.
The index for final demand goods rose 1.2% in November. In November, advances were broad based. Prices for final demand goods less foods and energy climbed 0.8%, the index for final demand energy jumped 2.6%, and prices for final demand foods moved up 1.2%.
The index for final demand services increased 0.7% for the month, the eleventh consecutive increase. Leading the increase in November, the index for final demand services less trade, transportation, and warehousing, which climbed 0.6%.
