The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau recapped its efforts in 2018 to fulfill its statutory mandate to ensure consumers are protected from discrimination in its seventh Fair Lending Report issued recently. The agency noted that it prioritized mortgage lending, small business lending and student loan servicing in its fair lending activities throughout 2018.
The report also highlights the bureau’s activities related to Equal Credit Opportunity Act enforcement, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act reporting, guidance and rulemaking, interagency coordination and outreach.
