The American Bankers Association Nominating Committee — chaired by Dan Blanton, senior executive vice president of South State Bank, Augusta, Ga., — has selected a slate of candidates for association officer positions. The election will be held during the ABA Annual Convention, Oct. 15-17 in Chicago. Nominees are:
- Chairman: Kenneth L. Burgess, Jr., chairman, FirstCapital Bank of Texas, Midland, Texas
- Chairman-Elect: Jeffrey M. Szyperski, chairman, president and CEO, Chesapeake Bank, Kilmarnock, Va.
- Vice Chairman: Laurie L. Stewart, president and CEO, Sound Community Bank, Seattle
- Treasurer: George W. Hermann, president & CEO, Windsor Federal Savings, Windsor, Conn.
