Florida student Catie Tomasello won the first-place grand prize of $5,000 in the ABA Foundation’s “Lights, Camera, Save!” video contest, the association announced today. Catie’s animated video, “Saving for the Future,” highlights the importance of saving over spending, and how compound interest can help savers grow their savings over time. The video was entered in the contest by Community Bank in Miramar Beach, Fla.
“Through her creativity and impressive animation skills, Catie highlights the importance of saving and smart money management,” said Corey Carlisle, the ABA Foundation’s executive director. “Her video will be a fantastic tool in inspiring other students to make saving a priority.”
The two other grand prize winners were second-place Matthew Post’s “Temptation’s Thirst,” entered by Congressional Bank, Bethesda, Md., and third-place Matthew Walak’s “Mr. Big Cash Money,” entered by Milford Federal Savings & Loan Association, Milford, Mass. The contest was sponsored by Discover Debit.
