House Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-Texas) has been added as a keynote speaker at the ABA Government Relations Summit, to be held March 20-22 in Washington, D.C. Hensarling is expected to reintroduce a sweeping financial regulatory reform package in the coming weeks. With Senate Banking Committee Chairman Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) also scheduled to speak, Summit attendees will hear from the two most powerful financial services lawmakers.
Hensarling and Crapo join other big names on the Summit program, including “Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace and comedian Paul Mecurio, correspondent for “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” Attendees can also attend several ABA forums being held in conjunction with the Summit, including the Mutual Community Bank Forum, the Emerging Leaders Forum and the Women’s Leadership Forum.
With 2017 shaping up to be a critical year in enacting pro-growth policies on Capitol Hill and in the new administration, all bank employees and directors are encouraged to attend the largest gathering of banking industry leaders in the nation’s capital. In addition to meeting with lawmakers, regulators and administration officials, bankers who attend the Summit will gain fresh insights and valuable information that they can share with their institutions and use to encourage colleagues to participate in these efforts throughout the year.
