Senate Banking Committee Ranking Member Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) and House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) will speak at ABA’s Government Relations Summit, March 20-22 in Washington, D.C.
Brown and Scalise join House Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-Texas) and Senate Banking Committee Chairman Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) among the influential lawmakers on the program. Other keynote speakers include “Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace and comedian Paul Mecurio, correspondent for “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” Attendees can also attend several ABA forums being held in conjunction with the Summit, including the Mutual Community Bank Forum, the Emerging Leaders Forum and the Women’s Leadership Forum.
With 2017 shaping up to be a critical year in enacting pro-growth policies on Capitol Hill and in the new administration, all bank employees and directors are encouraged to attend the largest gathering of banking industry leaders in the nation’s capital. In addition to meeting with lawmakers, regulators and administration officials, bankers who attend the Summit will gain fresh insights and valuable information that they can share with their institutions and use to encourage colleagues to participate in these efforts throughout the year.
