The American Bankers Association today congratulated the first graduates of its new Enterprise Risk Management Advanced Professional Development Program, held this week in Washington, D.C., in partnership with the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business. The 31 graduates, who are senior risk management professionals from banks across the country, completed a thorough curriculum covering each of the industry’s primary risk categories, including credit risk management, asset-liability management and business risk.
The first program of its kind for risk executives, the training was offered by a faculty of experts from the Smith School and the private sector. Attendees were placed in small cohort teams to facilitate learning and maximize interaction as they further built critical knowledge and management skills necessary to develop, implement and monitor effective risk programs.
The next ERM advanced program will take place in May 2017. Application details will be available on aba.com soon.
