House, Senate Name Ag Committee Chairs, Ranking Members

Rep. David Scott (D-Ga.) will serve as chairman of the House Agricultural Committee for the 117th Congress, with Rep. Glenn “GT” Thompson (R-Pa.) serving as ranking member. Subcommittee chairs and ranking members include:

  • Rep. Antonio Delgado (D-N.Y.) will chair the Commodity Exchanges, Energy and Credit Subcommittee, with Rep. Michelle Fischbach (R-Minn.) serving as ranking member.
  • Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-Va.) will chair the Conservation and Forestry Subcommittee, with Rep. Doug LaMalfa (R-Calif.) serving as ranking member.
  • Rep. Jahana Hayes (D-Conn.) will chair the Nutrition, Oversight and Department Operations Subcommittee, with Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) serving as ranking member.
  • Rep. Cheri Bustos (D-Ill.) will chair the General Farm Commodities and Risk Management Subcommittee, with Rep. Austin Scott (R-Ga.) serving as ranking member.
  • Rep. Stacey Plaskett (D-U.S. Virgin Islands) will chair the Biotechnology, Horticulture and Research Subcommittee, with Rep. Jim Baird (R-Ind.) serving as ranking member.
  • Rep. Jim Costa (D-Calif.) will chair the Livestock and Foreign Agriculture Subcommittee, with Rep. David Rouzer (R-N.C.) serving as ranking member.

Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.) will chair the Senate Agricultural Committee, with Sen. John Boozman (R-Ark.) serving as ranking member. Subcommittee chairs and ranking members include:

  • Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) will chair the Subcommittee on Commodities, Risk Management and Trade, with Sen. John Hoeven (R-N.D.) serving as ranking member.
  • Sen. Tina Smith (D-Minn.) will chair the Subcommittee on Rural Development and Energy, with Sen. Jodi Ernst (R-Iowa) serving as ranking member.
  • Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) will chair the Subcommittee Conservation, Climate, Forestry and Natural Resources, with Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) as ranking member.
  • Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) will chair the Subcommittee on Food and Nutrition, Specialty Crops, Organics, and Research, with Sen. Mike Braun (R-Ind.) serving as ranking member.
  • Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) will chair the Subcommittee on Livestock, Dairy, Poultry, Local Food Systems, and Food Safety and Security, with Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.) serving as ranking member.
