More than 2,000 bankers and compliance experts — a new record — convened in Nashville, Tenn., yesterday for the American Bankers Association’s annual Regulatory Compliance Conference. Patti Blenden, CRCM, founder and president of Financial Solutions, received the Distinguished Service Award during the conference’s opening session last night. The award, first presented in 1995, recognizes outstanding leadership, initiative and accomplishment in banking regulatory compliance management.
An active participant in ABA compliance activities for many years, Blenden is a widely respected faculty member at the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking and for all programs at ABA’s Compliance Schools. She works closely with community bank executives to develop compliance policies, programs and training.
The four-day Regulatory Compliance Conference, which is a compliance immersion experience for bank compliance officers, auditors, legal counsel and bank senior management, kicked off with a panel on the three lines of defense. Throughout the week, attendees will hear keynote presentations from Wells Fargo EVP and Regulatory Innovation Officer Yvette Hollingsworth Clark, ABA President and CEO Rob Nichols and Center for Financial Services Innovation President and CEO Jennifer Tescher. On Wednesday at 12:15 p.m. EDT, ABA will livestream the closing general session for free.
