Nearly 1,750 bankers and compliance experts — setting a new attendance record — convened in Washington, D.C., yesterday for the 29th annual ABA Regulatory Compliance Conference. Carl Pry, CRCM, managing director at Treliant Risk Advisors, received the Distinguished Service Award during the conference’s opening session last night. The award, first presented in 1995, recognizes outstanding leadership, initiative and accomplishment in banking regulatory compliance management.
An active participant in ABA compliance activities for many years, Pry is an editorial board member and award-winning columnist for ABA Bank Compliance magazine, and he has also written for ABA Bank Marketing and Sales. Pry also serves on ABA’s advisory board for the CRCM designation and has held executive positions at KeyBank, Accenture and Kirchman Corporation.
The four-day Regulatory Compliance Conference, which is a compliance immersion experience for bank compliance officers, auditors, legal counsel, and bank senior management, kicked off with a keynote panel on lines of defense featuring compliance chiefs at large, mid-sized and small banks.
