Zoime Alvarez Rubio has been named as the new executive vice president of the Puerto Rico Bankers Association. An attorney, Alvarez Rubio was previously hospital business director at Aon Risk Solutions and administrator of Puerto Rico’s State Insurance Fund Corporation. She will replace Arturo Carrion, who will retire on June 30 after serving 29 years as EVP.
“We celebrate Arturo Carrion’s valuable contribution of the banking industry and give the warmest welcome to Zoime Alvarez Rubio to the Puerto Rico Bankers Association,” said ABPR President Jose Fernandez, who is president and CEO of Oriental Bank, San Juan. He added that Alvarez Rubio “will successfully lead the work of our association and the duties of her new position to benefit the island’s banking industry.”
