ABA’s First ‘Take Your Lawmaker to Work Week’ Set for September

May 12, 2015
Reading Time: 1 min read

Bankers across the country will welcome their senators and representatives into their banks during “Take Your Lawmaker to Work Week” on Sept. 21-25, ABA announced today. The bank visits, which take place when lawmakers will be back in their home states, will provide an opportunity for lawmakers to see in person how banks operate, how regulations affect banks in real life and the roles banks play in their communities.

“Face-to-face interactions between Congress and the people they represent back home can be powerful,” said ABA EVP James Ballentine. “We believe just one day at a local bank will help lawmakers understand how regulations can hinder banks’ abilities to serve their customers effectively, create jobs and grow the economy.”

Registration for Take Your Lawmaker to Work Week is now open. After registering, bankers can visit Amplify to find free materials and tips to help invite members of Congress and make the most of their visits. For more information, contact ABA’s Erin Scheithe.
