CFPB Unveils Complaint Narratives, Access for Government Workers

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau today published the first 7,700 consumer narratives that consumers had opted to have accompany their complaints in the CFPB’s public database. More than half of consumers submitting complaints since narratives were added in March have opted to share their narratives.

CFPB: Some Reverse Mortgage Ads ‘Confusing’

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau yesterday issued a report describing several lenders' reverse mortgage advertisements as confusing to seniors. Based on focus groups of seniors, the CFPB said several reverse mortgage ads inadequately disclosed that reverse mortgages are loans, offered incomplete or inaccurate information about loan terms and included illegible fine print.
