ABA has added Medal of Honor recipient and decorated American hero Capt. Florent Groberg to its lineup of speakers for its Annual Convention, to be held Oct. 16-18 in Nashville, Tenn. Groberg received the Medal of Honor — the nation’s top award for valor in combat — for his actions to protect U.S. and Afghan military leaders from a suicide bomber during his second deployment to Afghanistan in August 2012. He will share his story and its lessons for unity, selflessness and the importance of setting goals and earning success.
Groberg joins a lineup of speakers that includes Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.); political analyst Mark Halperin; economist Andrew Busch; digital and technological leaders Josh Klein and Debra Jasper; and history-making astronaut Scott Kelly. The convention program also features in-depth sessions on industry trends, best practices and innovative concepts. Sessions will cover the “Uberization” of the banking industry, fintech, blockchain technology, branch optimization, attracting talent and marketplace lending.
